Dear Diary,

It's Father's day.
And at 8:00 sharp in the morning we will start our hike !!
Right now it's 6:30 in the morning!!1 hour 30 minutes to go!!

7:40 AM.

I have finished my morning routine and packed my bag for the trip in the wild!! Seems like Micky also got ready, he came to my room with a bag just for him!

And I was so thrilled to hear dad call me out to start our trip !!! I literally dragged my bag and Micky's bag since they were too heavy. Dad came to my rescue and picked up Micky's bags.

8:00 AM

Finally we started our trek.
"You see that's the mountain we are going to climb." He pointed
It seemed pretty easy to climb and was not so steep.

I regretted those words right after I came nearer to it. Although it seemed pretty easy for Keesha.
" Dad, this is the easiest mountain, I want a higher one!" She screamed. " But this is Nat's first time climbing one,
we should start with an easy mountain " He replied softly.
I was glad that he said that, cause when I saw the other mountains
I was happy that we were going to climb the smallest one.

1:40 PM

We started walking with a stick in one hand and pointing at beautiful sites with other hand.
As we climbed, the air got colder and the path turned rockier. I could feel the butterflies fluttering in my stomach, fortunately I was right next to papa.

Papa explained three ways to find out the difference of a berry that is little poisonous to cattles or the ones which cause death in just 3 seconds. When he said that I shuddered. I was paying attention to every single detail that papa
told "The Poisonous Ivy symptoms are: Redness,Itching,Swelling,And Blisters Luckily it grows only in the United States." he continued. Keesha seemed like she knew everything. She mimicked everything papa said.
  • "This way." Dad pointed "We are close to the top." The view from the top was amazing and breathtaking. After spending an hour of enjoying our picnic lunch with a view, we started trekking down.

3:00 PM

  • We were midway down the hill, the sky started getting dark and gloomy. It was weird cause it's only 3:40 and usually it's not that dark at this time. we finally reached the lake at the bottom of the hill at 5pm. "We better start the campfire now!" Wailed Keesha I didn't say a word. All this was new to me, so I just agreed with everything dad said. "I will start the fire and you two can go and play together." Said dad. I didn't like the idea of me and Keesha playing together, and plus I always wanted to know how to start a fire. So I stayed near dad, while sis went to fetch some water.

5 :30 PM

I got bored of watching the fire. And dad said that me and Keesha

can still play, there was still some time, and if I was scared I could take Micky with me. Dad had to set up all the tents.
But this time I agreed with him, so me, Micky and Keesha ran near the lake. But as usual sis didn't want to play with me. She asked me " Hey listen, your 8 right? You know how to read maps?" I nodded my head. " Then take this and go play on your own. I want some alone time." She said quietly handing me a map.
I took the map and ventured out to nearby bushes. Micky was following me.

6:30 PM

it was totally dark and I was heading back to camp. With Micky
I had collected some rocks and funny shaped leaves.
And when I came near the lake I saw sis, talking to the fish.
I went near her. And pakow, she hit me right on my face.
" Oh sorry I thought you were a wild animal , hope you are not hurt." She apologized. I forgave her with one condition. "Tell me who you were talking to and why?" I responded. " Ugh fine, my first year when I was 8, I also ventured out like you. and I found this lake and it was beautiful with gold fishes and salmons or some other type of fishes.
I really loved, I wanted them as pets. I knew dad wouldn't let me take them home. So every Father's day I come to this pond and spend some time with the fishies." She told me. "Listen, you tell this to papa, then I am not going to help you with your homework." I nodded and walked with her and Micky to camp. We all sat down in a circle and enjoyed the warmth of fire with a loud chat.

This is a trip I shall never forget in my life !
